Old gold is credited at 96% of the day's 22K rate, which covers the refining loss. Your pieces are weighed and tested in front of you before anything is agreed.

A bridal set and a daily-wear chain have nothing in common except the metal. Each carries its own weight range and charge band.

Why the numbers are on the page

In gold, a website's only job is removing the fear of being overcharged.

Nobody buys a wedding set online. They decide which showroom to walk into, and they decide it on whether the pricing looks honest from outside.

Read your own hallmark

Every gold piece carries the BIS mark, a purity grade and a six-character HUID. That code can be checked independently, without taking anyone's word for it.

Making charges as a band

Intricate bridal work takes far more labour than a plain chain, so the charge runs 8% to 14% by category. One averaged number would be a lie in both directions.

Exchange, explained first

Old jewellery is melted and tested, and a refining loss is real. It is deducted at a stated percentage, in front of you, rather than discovered at billing.

Questions

Asked at the counter every day.

Why do making charges differ so much?

Because labour differs. A plain chain is drawn by machine; a bridal necklace is set by hand over weeks. The band runs from around 8% on simple pieces to 14% on heavy sets, and it is shown per category rather than as one number that would mislead on both ends.

What exactly is deducted on old gold?

Old jewellery has to be melted and tested, and some metal is genuinely lost in refining. The credit here is 96% of the day's 22K rate on the tested weight. The testing happens in front of you and the figure is agreed before anything is melted.

Is every piece really hallmarked?

Every gold piece sold. The BIS mark carries a purity grade and a unique HUID, and that code can be verified independently. Unhallmarked gold is not sold here at any price.

Do you buy back coins at full rate?

Coins bought here are taken back at the published rate on the day of return, with no making deduction, because none was charged in the first place.

Before you visit

Ask the rate, then decide the day.

Most families message first for the morning rate and a few photographs, then arrive having already narrowed the choice. It makes the visit far shorter.
